Los Angeles City Details

Must be outside of a 700-foot radius of a School, Public Park, Public Library, Alcoholism or Drug Abuse Recovery or Treatment Facility, Day Care Center, and Permanent Supportive Housing; and outside of a 700- foot radius of any other Retailer or Micro Business Commercial Cannabis Activity having on-site retail sales, which is licensed by the state of California and licensed by the City to engage in the Commercial Cannabis Activity defined in this section.

  • Exception. Type 9 – Non-Storefront Commercial Cannabis Activity shall not be required to locate outside of a 700-foot radius of a Public Park, Public Library, Alcoholism or Drug Abuse Recovery or Treatment Facility, Day Care Center, and Permanent Supportive Housing; or outside of a of any other Retailer or Micro Business Commercial Cannabis Activity having on-site retail sales, which is licensed by the state of California and licensed by the City to engage in the Commercial Cannabis Activity.Type 9 – Non-Storefront Commercial Cannabis Activity shall be required to locate outside of a 600-foot radius of a School.

2. Type 12 – Microbusiness
Must be outside of a 700-foot radius of a School, Public Park, Public Library, Alcoholism or Drug Abuse Recovery or Treatment Facility, Day Care Center, and Permanent Supportive Housing; and outside of a 700-foot radius of any other Retailer or Micro Business Commercial Cannabis Activity, having on-site retail sales, which is licensed by the state of California and licensed by the City to engage in the Commercial Cannabis Activity defined in this section.

  • Exception. Any Micro Business Commercial Cannabis Activity with sales to the public limited to off-site deliveries and having no on-site sales shall not be required to locate outside of a 700-foot radius of a Public Park, Public Library, Alcoholism or Drug Abuse Recovery or Treatment Facility, Day Care Center, and Permanent Supportive Housing; or outside of a 700-foot radius of any other Retailer or Micro Business Commercial Cannabis Activity having on-site retail sales, which is licensed by the state of California and licensed by the City to engage in the Commercial Cannabis Activity.

6. Testing Commercial Cannabis Activity

Outside of a 600-foot radius of a School.

7. Distributor Commercial Cannabis Activity

Sensitive Uses

Unless the City Administrator in his/her discretion determines that the location will not impact the peace, order and welfare of the public evidence that the proposed location of such dispensary is not within six hundred (600) feet of a public or private school providing instruction in kindergarten or grades 1 to 12, inclusive (but not including any private school in which education is primarily conducted in private homes), another dispensary or youth center, unless the school or youth center moved into the area after the dispensary was issued a permit under this chapter.

Applications for delivery only dispensaries shall not be subject to a hearing requirement, unless they are within 300 feet of a residential zone.

Sacramento City Details

Two types of distribution permits will be available:

  • a) Distribution Center – for a site for a site over 2,500 sq. ft., intended for businesses with the sole function of distributing and transporting products through the supply chain; and
  • b) Distribution Service – for a site 2,500 sq. ft. or less, intended as an add-on or secondary permit that will allow an entity already holding another type of cannabis permit to distribute their own products through the supply chain.

 

Sensitive Uses

1. If the cannabis dispensary is a storefront cannabis dispensary, as defined in chapter 5.150, the site must not be within 600 feet of another storefront cannabis dispensary site.

2. The cannabis dispensary site must not be within 600 feet of any park, child care center, in-home child care (family day care home), youth-oriented facility, church or faith congregation, substance abuse center, or cinema.

3. The cannabis dispensary site must not be within 600 feet of any tobacco retailer that has 15,000 square feet or less of gross floor area and devotes less than 2% of its retail shelving or 250 square feet, whichever is less, to the display, sale, offering of tobacco, tobacco products, tobacco paraphernalia, nicotine, nicotine products, nicotine paraphernalia, or smoking or vaping areas; or

4. The cannabis dispensary site must not be within 300 feet of a residential zone.

5. Sites must be at least 600 ft. from schools (K-12), and neighborhood and community parks.  Sites that are less than 600 ft. from a neighborhood or community park will require a CUP approval from the Planning and Design Commission instead of the Zoning Administrator.

 

Application Costs

The costs for application in this city vary based on your size of permit type like cultivation sq ft or up to $100k or $1m in manufacturing. We will list a range for each of the new uses allowed, the renewal fees are often slightly less than new permits.

  • Cultivation (up to 5,000 sq ft – up to 22,000 sq ft): $9,700 – $28,910
  • Dispensary (Delivery only – Less than $500k – available for low range): $9,760 – $23,610
  • Distribution (Transport Only, up to $5m – Over $20m): $5,530 – $33,600
  • Manufacturing Type (Class A – D / up to $100k – Over $3m): $4,440 – $30,900
