On November 8, 2016, Nevada voters passed the Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act (Ballot Question 2) to allow adult-use cannabis in the state. The states Cannabis Compliance Board quickly passed state regulations and adult use sales began on January 1st, 2018.Â
Most recently, the state passed regulations allowing cannabis consumption lounges, opening up an exciting new license type which is especially enticing in Las Vegas, one of the largest tourist destinations in the world.

Nevada Cannabis Overview: The Cannabis Control Authority was recently formed on July 1st, 2021. The CCA will adopt final regulations for zoning and application processes in 2022 at the earliest with a target date of January 1st, 2024 for retail sales to begin in the state. Applications for consumption lounges are expected to begin in the winter-spring seasons of 2022.
