Why: The city of Monterey recently directed city staff to develop an adult use ordinance for the city that would allow up to three storefront retail locations in the coastal city for the first time. Â

2. Manteca
Why: The city of Manteca recently passed its adult use ordinance and is currently working on application procedures and guidelines. Â

3. Long Beach
Why: The city of Long Beach is currently working on two separate ordinance amendments to allow non-storefront delivery licenses, expand the retail green zone, and release up to additional social equity dispensary licenses. City staff will be presenting the dispensary ordinance to the City Council first in March 2022 and will present the delivery ordinance at a future City Council meeting, likely in May 2022.Â
